Limited Edition phones have always been special in their own way.
Companies have always tried to give a cool new look to the phone, give a new theme to the user interface and give an overall premium feel to the device.
However small those details might be, this makes the device exclusive and stand out of the crowd
And if you are looking to get your hands on a limited edition phone, you are in the right place.
Vivo has officially launched the limited edition of its Vivo IQoo 3 smartphone which was initially launched back in February 2020.
If you are unfamiliar with the iQoo 3, let me give you a short summary from the launch.
Vivo iQoo 3 Launch Summary
- This is one of the first devices to provide 5G support
- Even though iQoo is a sub-brand of Vivo, it functions as a separate brand in India, just like Poco.
- India is still a few months/years away from attaining 5G networks around the country, Vivo has launched its iQoo 3 smartphone with X55 modem i.e with 5G support for its 12 GB Variant (lower variants don't support 5G)
- This was also the first smartphone to come with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 in the country.
- This is also one of the cheapest smartphones available to purchase with high-end internal specifications
- How much does it cost? Just Rs 34,999 (I know it's not as cheap as you expected. But with this configuration, you couldn't possibly get a better deal
- And if you want the device with 5G support, you will have to buy the 12GB RAM variant.
With the limited edition phone of the Vivo iQoo 3, Vivo has collaborated to bring you a Transformers Limited Edition of the phone.
Vivo iQoo 3 Transformers Limited Edition
At first impressions, you are greeted with a special Transformers Editions packing.
With iQoo written in gold accents and a bold Transformers in Red.
The box gives a carbon-like finish which makes it look even better.
Even though these are small things, but when you are looking at a limited edition phone, you expect to get every small details right.
Inside the box, you get the phone, a transformers edition back case and the 55 W fast charger with black and Autobot logo.
Even the charging wire is black to resemble the theme
Talking about the device itself.,
Just like its original brother, the Vivo iQoo 3 comes with the same display and design language
The main difference you will notice is the new design of the back panel which has a carbon fiber-like finish and an Autobot Logo.
Note that the phone doesn't use a carbon fiber frame, Vivo has only given an aesthetic finish under the glass.
The frame, as well as the camera module, have a gold accents around them which adds a really nice touch to the phone.
The Other significant change is in the user interface.
Much like other limited edition mobile phones, the Transformers Edition comes with a new pack of icons and theme option.
This theme will share the Autobots aesthetic look.
And just like the rear back panel which came with a combination of Black and gold accent colours, you will see the same look on your screen.
I am glad they didn't overdo things, like a few other limited edition phones have done in the past.
They have tried to keep it close to the actual icons and theme.
Other than this, you will find the same internal specifications and performance you will expect from the regular Vivo iQoo 3 smartphone

The Vivo iQoo 3 made a statement in the Indian market by launching the cheapest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 smartphone.
Even though that spot is taken by Realme X50 Pro, the iQoo 3 is a recommended device.
The Transformers edition brings a new change in external design and a themed UI experience.
The carbon fibre like design and the new customized theme adds a sweet touch to the phone which might have been missing from the initial phones.
The limited-edition phone resembles in every other aspect to the original iQoo 3 smartphones.
So if you are looking or have an interest to own a device which would stand out of the crowd, have an interest to possess a limited edition smartphone, you should definitely check out the iQoo 3 Transformers Edition.
But if just stumbled upon this article to get an overview of how the Limited edition is going to be. (because you might want to buy a new iQoo device)
I would recommend you to choose from the 3 colour options which can be availed for less 35k for the base variant.
And I think a lot of people would be more than happy to choose a regular model rather than spending a few extra thousands and buy the transformers edition.
Something I would have liked is an option of choosing your Autobots.
I have been a fan of Optimus prime and bumblebee, and if I had the option to customize my AutoBot. I would have chosen one of them.
Do Comment down below your favourite Autobot. I would love to hear your picks.
