Which One You Should Buy: OnePlus 8T vs Samsung Galaxy S20 FE (Fan Edition) Comparison

If you have £700 (Approx $892/60000) in the pocket and running around to choose between the OnePlus 8T vs Samsung galaxy S20 FE (Fan Edition), then this comparison will help you get a better insight on which device you should choose.

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE (Fan Edition) was recently launched during a Galaxy Unpacked Fan Event held online by Samsung.

While OnePlus 8T is yet to be launched, the specifications and designs have been heavily leaked.

This is why the comparison between OnePlus 8T vs Samsung Galaxy S20 FE (Fan Edition) would be helpful for you to decide between the two phones.

Don't want to read all the changes between both the phones and which one is better? You can skip to the specifications comparison of OnePlus 8T vs Samsung Galaxy S20 FE (Fan Edition) by clicking here

OnePlus 8T vs Samsung Galaxy S20 FE (Fan Edition) Design

Design is a very important part of every phone and both the phones will come with flat displays.

The OnePlus 8T will come with a 6.55 inch Fluid AMOLED Display whereas the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE (Fan Edition) comes with the same 6.55-inch SuperAMOLED Display.

In terms of Display, Samsung has always been ahead in producing quality driven displays for its smartphones and this one would be no exception.

OnePlus Display has been quite promising for a long time but a few phones (especially in the Nord Series) have got a number of complaints with respect to the Tint Issue.

I would expect to wait for a few reviews online before you spend your money on the OnePlus 8T in terms of its display.

Nonetheless, the display of the OnePlus 8T is said to come with even fewer bezels. OnePlus is about to decrease the bezels, near to the edges.

This gives a much better 2020 look in comparison to the S20 FE edition which has an outdated design.

So in between OnePlus 8T vs Samsung Galaxy S20 FE (Fan Edition), I would rather prefer the OnePlus 8T in terms of display design.

OnePlus 8T vs Samsung Galaxy S20 FE (Fan Edition) Processor

The OnePlus 8T will not be using the Plus version of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 which was usually the case with the "T" version.

So you will be getting the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 from the OnePlus 8. This seems to be a move to keep the price around the OnePlus 8 as the 865+ costs much more.

Samsung on the other hand rolled out to two versions of the phone.

One will be a 4G version that comes with Samsung's own Exynos 990 processor and the 5G version will come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865.

If you are looking to put down £700 (Approx $892/60000), you start expecting a good camera and better pictures.

With the OnePlus 8T continuing its quad-camera setup, it will be using the same camera setup as seen in the OnePlus 8.

Just like the previous OnePlus phone, the OnePlus 8 lagged in terms of producing good quality pictures. Nonetheless, I personally feel the OnePlus 8 did a better job when combined with a Gcam Mod.

The OnePlus 8T will come with a 48 MP (Wide Angle) as the primary lens with 16 MP (Ultra Wide),5 MP (Macro ), and a 2 MP (Depth Sensor) with autofocus

While the Primary and the Ultra-wide has been of good use, the Macro and the depth sensor is pretty useless.

OnePlus used to provide a Telephoto lens previously and a lot of people expected to see it with the regular versions of the OnePlus phone, but they seem to be housing a Macro lens instead.

The Depth camera is basically to increase the count of cameras as the software alone is capable enough to take portrait shots.

On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE (Fan Edition) will house a Triple camera setup with 12 MP f/1.8 (Wide Angle) + 8 MP f/2 (Telephoto) + 12 MP f/2.2 (Ultra Wide) with autofocus.

Samsung camera software has been better recently and the Galaxy S20 FE camera setup is a better choice over the OnePlus 8T (if you are looking for the better camera phone)

IP68 Rating

The IP68 rating is the official rating on a phone which tells if the phone is dust and waterproof or not.

While the IP68 rating is quite useful for a lot of people, OnePlus has never given the rating in any of its phones except for the OnePlus 8 Pro.

So naturally, OnePlus will be skipping the same on the OnePlus 8T.

On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S20 FE (Fan Edition) is actually IP68 rated.

So if you accidentally dropped your phone in water, the Galaxy S20 FE (Fan Edition) will remain intact and protect your phone, avoiding any water inside it.

Fast Charging

Fast Charging has been key importance in 2020, where companies have been trying to get 65W under the $300 price tag.

OnePlus has been giving fast charging since the OnePlus 5 Series and has provided 30W fast charging till the OnePlus 8 Series.

With the launch of OnePlus 8T, one plus will be bringing its highest charging to the phone: 65W Fast Charging.

So expect the phone to go from 0-100% in less than 40 minutes of charge.

On the other hand, The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE will only come with 15W fast charging which will take well over an hour to get your phone from 0-100%.

While the Galaxy S20 FE will not be coming with fast charging, it will be coming with 15W wireless charging and 4.5W Reverse wireless charging.

So I know a lot of people who would love to have wireless charging over a 65W fast charge, so if you are one of them then the Galaxy S20 FE would be a better choice for you.
